BJP slams a century in the NMC polls, all set to retain power again

While the counting of votes for NMC polls is still going on, as of now, the BJP in the NMC polls has already won more than 100 seats out of 151 seats!

After giving tough competition to former ally Shiv Sena in the BMC polls by winning 82 seats, BJP is all set to retain power in the RSS backyard, Nagpur as well. While the counting of votes for the Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections is still going on, as of now, the BJP in the NMC polls has already won 101 seats out of 151 seats! Shiv Sena, Congress, NCP have won 3, 28 and 1 seat respectively while the MNS couldn’t even win a single seat.

The Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis who hails from the city is being credited with BJP’s superb performance in the civic body elections across Maharashtra. Barring Mumbai and Thane, the BJP has secured majority in other cities namely Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Solapur, Akola, Ulhasnagar, Amravati and Pimpri Chinchwad.
