Union Minister of State for Social Justice Ramdas Athawale, during a press conference held on Thursday in Nagpur, said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would win around 260 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and that Narendra Modi will once again become the Prime Minister of India.
When asked whether he would like to see Union Minister Nitin Gadkari or Narendra Modi as the PM, Athawale said that BJP will fight the 2019 Lok Sabha elections under Modi’s leadership and that’s why Modi should be the PM in 2019. Athawale, however, said that Gadkari may get a chance to become PM in 2024.
Commenting on his relationship with Gadkari, Athawale said, “Nitin Gadkari is a very good friend of mine, but Narendra Modi will become the next prime minister. Gadkari is a very active minister in the union cabinet. But for now, Modi will become the prime minister.”
Responding to a remark on Priyanka Gandhi getting important positions in the Congress party, Athawale said, “Mere resemblance to Indiraji may not be enough, she is yet t o that she has the mettle that her grandmother possessed.
