BMC Commissioner Praveen Pardeshi transferred amid rising COVID-19 cases in Mumbai

BMC Commisisoner Praveen Pardeshi has been transferred to Urban Development Department, amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Mumbai.

In a major development, BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) Commisisoner Praveen Pardeshi has been transferred as Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development Department, amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the maximum city. Iqbal Chahal, the Prinicipal Secretary in Urban Development Department has been made the new commissioner of BMC.

Mumbai alone accounts for more than 11,000 cases of coronavirus out of 18,000 cases in the state of Maharashtra. Out of 694 deaths in Maharashtra, 437 have been recorded in Mumbai making it one of the worst COVID-19 affected cities in India.
