Ahead of his charitable programme ‘Celebrating Jeetendra’ in Nagpur, Bollywood’s yesteryear superstar Jeetendra speaks to Nation Next about his fondness for Nagpur and his love for charity. Dr Bhavana Rajesh Dhabre has spearheaded the event, which would be held at Mankapur Sports Stadium, Nagpur on January 12, 2019, 7 pm onwards.

Jeetendra, while speaking about the charity event, told Nation Next, “Rajesh Dhabre is a great (IRS) officer and a singer too. I can never refuse Dhabre saab’s proposal not because he’s an officer but because he’s a thorough gentleman. Rajesh’s love for music and his wife Dr Bhavana’s love for charity made me get associated with this event.”

Dr Bhavana has been instrumental in successfully running Shakuntala Public School, which is approved by the Government of Maharashtra but a non-aided one. She has also been the torchbearer of the NGO – Swayamdeep Sanskrutik and Shikshaneek Sanstha, to which the proceeds of the charity event in Nagpur on Jan 12 would go towards.

When we spoke to Bhavana, she said, “All movies of Jeetendraji have been super hit in Nagpur; be it Maang Bharo Sajna, Arpan, Kinara, Mawaali, Tohfa, Himmatwala, etc. There was a time during the 80’s when only his songs used to be played at functions and schools in Nagpur.”
