Budding poets and shayars weaved magic with their words as they recited their original verses at Ek Dastaan 5.0 held recently at Poonam Mall in Nagpur. The event, which was organised by TIE Up, was hosted by Azeem Khan, Mudra Kumar and Pavan Kharate. The guest of honour at the event was Dr Nadeem Khan.
During the event, curated poets were given three minutes on stage to express their emotions through their writing. The topics of these poets had a certain diversity to them. They ranged from politics, old and new, heartbreak, new love, and many others.
As much as it was a brilliant opportunity for the budding poets to recite their verses, it was also a chance for the audience to witness enticing performances filled with poems in Marathi, Urdu, Hindi, and English. Along with talented poets, an engaging musical performance by a handpan artist Pavinder Singh also entertained the audience.
Geetanjali Buty, who was one of poets who performed at the event, told Nation Next, “Every poet wants to be appreciated for his or her good work. Such events not only ensure that the work of artists is recognised but also make sure that they are appreciated.” Geetanjali, who’s a regular performer at such events in the city, added, “It’s not every day that you get to witness poets in Nagpur who understand and master the nuances of Hindi language. At Ek Dastaan, I came across a lot of such amazing poets.”
