Nagpur businessman and hotelier Rajinder Singh Gahlen, owner at restaurant Laggunaa Bloo at Wardhaman Nagar, slapped a legal notice on Coca-Cola India Private Limited, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Private Limited and Superior Drinks Private Limited (Butibori) as he complained of receiving a bottle of Sprite containing plastic in it.

As per Gahlen, he had purchased a bottle of 200 ml Sprite with other beverages from Ved Enterprises, Kalmana Timber Market, Nagpur, for the purpose of selling it to his customers in his restaurant.

When Nation Next spoke to Gahlen, he said, “After my customer came across this discrepancy, he threatened to file a complaint against us and said that he would make sure our bar and food licence gets cancelled. If my customer had consumed the particular beverage, he would have faced serious health issues. Also, all this would have landed me in deep trouble legally and mentally.”

An outraged Gahlen further said, “I won’t hesitate to initiate any legal proceedings against these firms.”
