Glamourous models were seen sashaying down the ramp in style when Cadence Academy, organised its annual event ‘Ramp Inferno 2018’ at Kavi Suresh Bhat Auditorium, Reshimbagh in Nagpur on July 8. Ramp Inferno, which is the academy’s flagship event, provides an opportunity to its students to showcase their creative side and their work processes before they begin their professional careers. Along with hundreds of students of Cadence Academy, also present during the event was Rupesh Kumar (Director, Cadence Academy).

At Ramp Inferno 2018, students of Cadence Academy from Dharampeth, Sadar, Medical Square and Wardhaman Nagar branch designed clothes for models to walk in fashion sequences like Black Panther, Burning Fire, etc. The sequences featured a wide range of collection – from highly conceptual garments to ready-to-wear to high-street designs. The entire show was choreographed by Mumbai-based fashion choreographer Vishhal Saawaant and was managed by Rajesh Kapoor.

Every year, during Ramp Inferno, Cadence Academy, following its philosophy of ‘Seeing Beyond Fashion,’ tries to address a specific social issue through the event. The intention is to shed light on the plight of the victims who are reduced to silence and treated like slaves. Last year, Cadence Academy collaborated with Atmadeepam Society with an intention to connect the society with visually challenged people. During Ramp Inferno 2017, blind students walked the ramp along with India’s most prestigious celebrity models. This year, the fashion and design institute, in collaboration with the NGO Twinkle Foundation, tried to shed light upon the serious issue of Child Trafficking. During the event, a video showing a child labour being rescued was shown to the audience present. The video, quite obviously, moved many to tears.
