Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, who’s known to be an avid supporter of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has claimed that if the ruling government allows he can sell petrol at Rs 35-40 per litre. Baba Ramdev, who made the statement at the NDTV Youth Conclave held on Sunday, also called for bringing fuel under Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Baba Ramdev said, “If the government lets me, and gives some relief in tax, I can give petrol diesel to India at Rs 35-40 per litre. Fuel needs to be brought under GST and not the 28 per cent rate.” The Yoga guru also said that rising prices may hurt the Modi government in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Baba Ramdev said, “Many laud the policies of the Modi government, but some need correction now. Price rise is a big issue and Modi ji will have to take corrective measures soon, failing which ‘mehngai ki aag to Modi Sarkar ko bahut mehngi padegi’ (rising prices will prove costly for the Modi government).”

Baba Ramdev also said that unlike 2014 elections, he won’t be campaigning for Bharatiya Janata Party.
