After the BJP compared Indira Gandhi to Hitler, the Congress party on Tuesday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi by calling him crueler than Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The Congress said the same after the BJP criticised former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for imposing Emergency 43 years back. The rival party also accused the PM of ‘enslaving democracy’ for past four years since the BJP came to power.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, while addressing a press conference tagged PM as dictator of ‘Delhi Sultanate.’ Surjewala launched a scathing attack on Modi government by accusing them of being involved in various scams.

The Congress spokesperson further said that Aurangzeb had only made his father a prisoner but Modi made his party and democracy ‘prisoners.’

Surjewala, speaking about the same, said, “Aurangzeb didn’t take any lessons from anyone. Dictators don’t take lessons, instead, history teaches them as lessons. I’m sure Modiji will also have the same fate.”
