Congress leaders pay homage to Rajiv Gandhi on his 74th birth anniversary

United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi along with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Robert Vadra paid their respects to late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 74th birth anniversary at Veer Bhumi in New Delhi.

Apart from the Gandhi family, former prime minister Manmohan Singh, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, former chief minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot also paid homage to the late leader.

Gandhi, whose birth anniversary is celebrated as ‘Sadbhavna divas,’ was assassinated in a suicide bombing at Tamil Nadu’s Sriperumbudur on May 21, 1991. He was cremated at Veer Bhumi in New Delhi, on the banks of the river Yamuna.
