Shiv Sena’s Lok Sabha MP from Aurangabad Chandrakant Khaire said that late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan’s life could have been saved if he was allowed to touch him on his deathbed.

Khiare said the same while addressing a health camp on Saturday, which was attended by doctors. He further claimed that Mahajan’s case was his only failure. He even narrated an incident where he once miraculously healed a woman who was unable to walk.

As per Indian Express, Khaire was quoted as saying, “Faith works wonders in healing. I’ve healed several people this way. I feel the pulse of that person and then chant a secret mantra. I had reached Mumbai after hearing about attack on Pramodji. But, the situation was such that nobody was allowed to touch him and hence I couldn’t touch him and heal him.”

Khaire further gave a bizzare statement by saying that Mahajan could survive 12 days in hospital despite being hit from a point blank range was only because a small amount of vermilion (kumkum) from Ambabai Temple was placed under his pillow. Khaire said that he had handed the vermilion to Mahajan’s son Rahul after late Gopinath Munde urged him to do something to save Mahajan.

He said that Mahajan’s was the only case where he failed. The Shiv Sena leader said, “Just like doctors posses knowledge, we posses the power of goodwill. I’m not saying this out of any superstition, this really works.”
