COVID-19: Maharashtra Government extends lockdown till May 31

The Maharashtra Government on Sunday announced that the lockdown in the state to contain the spread of coronavirus has been extended till May 31. The order concerning the decision was issued by Ajoy Mehta, Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra. The third phase of the lockdown will end on Sunday night. While the lockdown has been extended, the phase wise relaxation/lifting of lockdown orders will be notified in due course.

Maharashtra is one of the worst affected  states in India due to COVID-19 outbreak. Out of the 90,000 cases in India, more than 30,000 cases are from Maharashtra alone. In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra has recorded close to 1,600 cases.
