COVID-19: Nagpur Police, NGOs distribute 42.8 lakh essential items to needy during lockdown

In what can be called as absolutely commendable, Nagpur Police and 158 NGOs have collectively distributed 42, 89,569 essential items to the needy during the lockdown. In the last 56 days, the police and the NGOs have distributed food packets, ration kits, masks, sanitisers, medicines and other essential items to these people. The information was shared on the official Twitter handle of the city police on Wednesday.

City Police had formed a Whatsapp group when the lockdown started with an intention to help those affected by the lockdown. The group comprises of representatives of the police, NGOs and media personnel. The group is spearheaded by Additional Commissioner Nilesh Bharne.
