Lizard found inside Haldiram packet

Nagpur man named Surendra Inwate (41) told Nation Next that he discovered a dead lizard inside a five rupees packet of popular Haldiram’s snack – Khatta Meetha – on Tuesday afternoon. Surendra, who works as a driver at Directorate General of Information and Public Relations in Maharashtra Government in Nagpur, narrated his horrific experience to Nation Next.

He said, “Me and my colleagues went to a tea shop near our office and grabbed three to four packets of the Khatta Meetha dry snack around 2:30 pm today afternoon. While consuming the snacks, we found snacks in one particular packet very soggy; also it tasted a bit different. That’s when we opened that packet only to find a dead lizard in it”

Surendra continued, “We all vomited after eating from that packet. We aren’t keeping well.” As per the images of the packet containing dead lizard sent by Surendra, the batch number of the snacks packet is 19L-173-136L and packaging date 12/07/19.

When we tried to get in touch with Rajendra Agrawal, Director at Haldiram’s, he remained unavailable for the comment.

However, this isn’t the first time such an incident occurred vis-à-vis Haldiram’s. Earlier, in the month of May this year, a couple from Wardha found a dead lizard in wada sambar at Ajni’s Haldiram’s Planet Food restaurant.
