Delhi Police arrest man who slapped Sharad Pawar after 8 years

    Delhi Police arrested Arvinder aka Harvinder Singh who had allegedly slapped NCP supremo Sharad Pawar at a public function in November 24, 2011.

    Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested Arvinder aka Harvinder Singh who had allegedly slapped NCP supremo Sharad Pawar at a public function in November 24, 2011. A resident of northwest Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar, Singh was first arrested in 2011 but had disappeared during the course of trial again on March 29, 2014.

    Since then, Patiala House Court declared the 36-year-old man a ‘proclaimed offender,’ as previously in 2012, a case was registered against Singh at Parliament Street police station for assaulting a cop on duty at Jantar Mantar.

    Singh allegedly slapped Pawar, who was the then Agriculture Minister at NDMC Convention Hall in New Delhi. A case was registered against Singh, who’s currently in police custody till November 25, at Connaught Place police station for the same.

    It was after tracing him multiple times cops finally arrested him after acting on tip offs. Singh previously had successfully relocated to unknown locations every time police learnt about his whereabouts.
