    Nagpur gets its drinking water from the Navegaon Khairi dam

    Situation in Nagpur further aggravated this month with no water in the nearby Navegaon Khairi dam. With mercury soaring above 47.5°C in the city, Nagpur has been facing intense water shortage. The depleting level at Navegaon Khairi dam has directly affected the city’s water supply. Of late, the water level at the dam has been as low as 318.45m.

    Recently, amidst the severe water crisis, residents of Narsala area in Nagpur had locked their water tankers to prevent theft. In April, residents of Wadi too faced severe water crisis. Such was the scarcity that the residents were storing water that they were getting after every four days. It was also said that the Wadi Municipal Corporation supplied water to the residents once in 12 days.
