Deployed 2500 cops for bandobast ahead of Ganpati visarjan tomorrow: Nagpur Police Commissioner BK Upadhyay

    BK Upadhyay said Nagpur Police has deployed over 2500 police personnel and is maintaining a strict vigil in view of Ganesh Visarjan tomorrow.

    Nagpur Police has deployed over 2500 police personnel and is maintaining a strict vigil in view of the 10-day festival Ganesh Chaturthi that will come to an end tomorrow. Speaking about the heavy bandobast arrangements currently being carried out in the city for tomorrow, Commissioner of Nagpur Police Dr BK Upadhyay informed Nation Next, “There’s a lot that we’ve taken into consideration. Like there are certain fixed points that would be heavily guarded. We’ve deployed over 2500 personnel who would keep a check on various point in civil and in police uniforms. Riot control staff, home guards, etc would be present at all the sensitive and frequented routes for visarjan. That’s how we’re going to cover the entire city.”

    The top cop also said that inter-departmental coordination with other bandobast personnel has already been worked out to ensure no inconvenience is caused to the general public. “My only message to citizens is that they cooperate with us and enjoy their festivities peacefully. I want everybody to live in harmony with each other,” said Upadhyay.
