Dr Prakash and Dr Mandakini Amte inspire Nagpur lawyers with their life story

    Dr Prakash and Dr Mandakini Amte inspired Nagpur lawyers as they shared the struggles of their lives at ‘A Road Less Traveled’ organised by High Court Bar Association (HCBA) recently at the High Court auditorium.

    Amtes were interviewed by well-known city host Shweta Shelgaonkar. Dr Prakash Amte, who’s the son of legendary social worker late Baba Amte, along with his wife Dr Mandakini spoke about the couple’s struggle in initial years in Hemalkasa, the inception of Lok Birdari Prakalp in the village and of course about his legendary father Baba Amte.

    The Magsaysay Award winning couple inspired everybody present as they shared anecdotes about their life and social work in Hemalkasa. Towards the end of the inspiring program, the couple was presented with a cheque of Rs 1,50,000 for the Lok Birdari Prakalp by HCBA President Anil Kilor, Vice President Gauri Venkatraman, Secretary Prafulla Khubalkar, retired SC Judge VS Sirpurkar and his wife Kumkum Sirpurkar.
