Drunk man walks in police station after attacking Nagpur wine shop manager with sword

    In a bizarre case, a drunk man, who attacked a Nagpur wine shop manager with a sword on Thursday evening, surrendered to the police in a drunken state later. The accused has been identified as Akash Pundalik Taksande (30), a resident of Takiya, Dhantoli.

    As per the police, Taksande, at around 8.30 pm on Thursday, visited Madhur Wine Shop (Kwality Wines) situated at Lokmat Square. Taksande abused the manager – Shekhar Aatmaramji Sonkusre (40), and started creating ruckus at the wine shop counter. He also smashed a few liquor bottles at the wine shop. Taksande then took out a sword and attacked Sonkusre, who was unhurt as he dodged the attack on time.

    Taksande was apparently so drunk that he himself went to Dhantoli Police Station and confessed to his crime. Sonkusre also went to the police station later and lodged a complaint against Taksande. Dhantoli Police have booked Taksande under sections 307, 427 and 504 of the IPC and sections 4 and 25 of the Arms Act.
