Eight women arrested by Sonegaon Police for trying to smuggle country liquor to Chandrapur

    Eight women were arrested on Friday by Sonegaon Police for trying to smuggle country liquor to the dry district of Chandrapur.

    Eight women were arrested on Friday by Sonegaon Police for trying to smuggle country liquor to the dry district of Chandrapur.

    On Friday, the detection unit of Sonegoan Police got a tip-off about around eight women carrying country liquor in plastic bags. The women, as per the tip-off, were heading towards Chandrapur through a train from Khapri Railway Station.

    Acting on the tip-off, Sonegaon Police reached near the railway station and was able to arrest the eight women and confiscate the plastic bags containing 840 bottles of country liquor worth Rs 21,840 from them.

    The women have been booked as per relevant sections of the IPC and The Bombay Prohibition Act.
