Excise Department seals Dharampeth’s Ankur Wines for selling over-the-counter liquor

State excise department temporarily sealed prominent wine shop located in Dharampeth – Ankur Wines – on Monday afternoon after the sale of over-the-counter thus violating lockdown rules One of the workers in the shop was held for selling four bottles of liquor to one of its customers in the afternoon. Civic body recently in the city had given permission to wine shops in Nagpur city to sell liquor online that too only to customers having a permit. 

Pramod Sonone, Superintendent at State Excise in Nagpur, told Nation Next that the incident took place in the absence of the owner. Sonone said, “An enquiry has been set up so the shop has been temporarily sealed. Tomorrow after the enquiry, the shop will be re-opened for home delivery of liquor.”
