Basim Hilal’s tweet before his account was suspended by Twitter.

An FIR has been registered against a Kashmiri student studying at Aligarh Muslim University for mocking the Pulwama tragedy, in which at least 40 CRPF jawans were martyred. Terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed the responsibility for the attack.

The student, Basim Hilal, tweeted, ‘How’s The Jaish? Great Sir’ after the terror attack took place on February 14 in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. For the uninitiated, the student’s comment is a reference to the dialogue, ‘How’s The Josh?’ from the recently released Indian movie Uri – The Surgical Strike. Hilal’s account was immediately suspended by Twitter for his distasteful comment on the Pulwama tragedy.

Hilal, who’s a student of B.Sc in AMU, has been suspended by the university. Hilal has been booked under Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code (promoting enmity) & Section 67A of the Information Technology Act (publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act, etc., in electronic form).
