FIR against Google by VHP member for derogatory search result on PM Modi

    An FIR was lodged against Google at Shahjahanpur for an alleged derogatory search result in 2015 on Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

    An FIR was lodged at Shahjahanpur against Google under the IT act by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) member RK Awasthi. The FIR has been lodged by Awasthi for an alleged derogatory search result in 2015 on PM Narendra Modi.

    Superintendent of  Police (city) has informed that the FIR was registered under various sections of the IT act on a complaint by lawyer Nand Kishore. In 2015, Google reportedly apologized when the image search of ‘Top 10 criminals in India’ returned PM Narendra Modi’s images.
