NAGPUR: Rs 5 lac demonetised currency found while cleaning Futala Lake

A sum of 5 lac rupees was found in the form of demonetised currency of denominations 500 and 1000 inside Futala Lake, Nagpur.

A sum of five lac rupees was found in the form of demonetised currency of denominations 500 and 1000 inside Futala Lake, Nagpur. The workers of an NGO, who were assigned the task of cleaning the lake, found the demonetised currency today, (Thursday afternoon, May 31, 2018). The workers after discovering the notes immediately informed Ambazari Police Station about the same.

When Nation Next spoke to Deputy Mayor of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Deepraj Pardikar, he said, “Yes, around five lac rupees were discovered by cleaners at Futala Lake today morning. A team of 20-25 workers discovered the demonetised notes, which are completely damaged. Many more notes could be found in the process.”
