Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of putting India’s 30,000 crores in his friend Anil Ambani’s pocket. Gandhi made the remark during Sankalp Rally at Wardha on October 2 while addressing a gathering of thousands of people.
Rahul said that Modi worshipped Mahatma Gandhi but did exactly what the latter never believed in. Rahul claimed that while Gandhiji believed in uniting the country, Modi believed in dividing the country. Rahul said, “Modiji makes people within same castes and religion, fight with each other. Wherever he (Modi) goes, he spreads hatred and anger.”
Rahul, going hammer and tongs at Modi, added, “Was Modiji lying or speaking the truth when he’d promised to give Rs 15 lakhs to every person? He’d even assured that after becoming the PM, Modiji would give employment to two crore people every year.”

Slamming the PM further, Rahul also reiterated Modi’s words when the former had once asked people to make him the chowkidar (watchman) and not the PM of the country.
Rahul, blaming Modi for the Rafale deal controversy and plugging businessman Anil Ambani for the same, asked, “Why did you (Modi) snatch Rafale deal’s contract from Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL) and give it to Anil Ambani? Why did you put Indians’ Rs 30,000 crores in Anil Ambani’s pocket? What was your motivation and thought behind this act? What kind of ‘chowkidari’ is this? Anil Ambani never manufactured a single aircraft in his entire life. HAL has been manufacturing numerous fighter aircrafts since 70 years. Anil Ambani owes Rs 45,000 crore to public sector banks. And Modiji gives him the contract of Rafale deal!”
Rahul said, “Moreover, Ambani floated a company just 10 days before bagging the contract and even accompanied Modiji to France for the delegation.” The Congress chief said that when the then Defence Minister of India, Manohar Parrikar, was asked about the same, he said he didn’t know anything about the Rafale deal.
Talking about farm loan waiver, Rahul said, “Modiji waived off loans worth Rs 3,20,000 crore for the most prominent people of India but couldn’t wave off loan worth a single rupee for our farmers of Vidarbha.”
Rahul, speaking about demonetisation, said, “During demonetisation, could anybody see a single man dressed in a suit thronging queues (of banks)? Could anybody see Anil Ambani, Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi or Mehul Choksi there? These ‘friends’ of Modiji entered the banks through back door and converted all their black money into white money!”
Expressing his concern over the soaring fuel prices, Rahul accused Modi of doing ‘chowkidari’ of other countries instead of India by calling him a ‘bhaagidar’ (someone who’s involved in a particular act) instead of a chowkidar.
