The right engine of Ahmedabad to Bengaluru GoAir flight caught fire on Tuesday due to damage caused by a foreign object during take off. In a statement, GoAir airline said, “The right engine of GoAir Ahmedabad to Bengaluru flight G8 802 is suspected to have suffered from a foreign object damage while on take-off roll.”

The airlines further said, “The suspected FOD resulted in a small fire, which has been doused. All passengers and crew are safe. The aircraft is being towed off the runway after which passengers will be deplaned. At GoAir, safety of our passengers and crew is of paramount importance and the airline sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused to its passengers.”
