MLA Imran Khedawala tested positive for COVID-19 a few hours after he met Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani to review the pandemic situation in Ahmedabad.

Congress MLA Imran Khedawala from Ahmedabad tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday evening, a few hours after he met Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, Deputy CM Nitin Patel and others to review the situation in Ahmedabad. Khedawala was immediately shifted to SVP Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. As per reports, Khedawala has mild symptoms.

Khedawala met Rupani at the CM’s official residence in Gandhinagar, along with two Congress MLAs Gyasuddin Shaikh and Shailesh Parmar. Rupani’s secretary Ashwani Kumar said that Khedawala should have avoided the meeting called by Rupani.

Ashwani informed that while social distancing was observed during the meeting, Rupani will undergo a medical check up on Wednesday. Congress MLAs Shaikh and Parmar have been asked to quarantine themselves and the CM’s residence has been thoroughly sanitized.

As per reports, Khedawala recently also attended a press conference, which was held at Gujarat Secretariat’s Narmada Hall, where other MLAs and health officials were present.
