Jitendra Awhad, Cabinet Minister for Housing in the Maha Vikas Aghadi and senior NCP leader, after getting recovered from the deadly COVID-19, said his health was so bad after getting infected with the virus that as per doctors he had only 30% chance of survival. Awhad said he recovered because of the dedication of the doctors and the medical staff who took extreme care of him. Awhad, a diabetic and a sufferer of hypertension, said the period between April 23 and 26 was the most crucial in his life as his family was told that his chances of survival were extremely bleak. He confessed he should have visited doctors much earlier but was overconfident and kept working.
Awhad stated his wife had already contracted virus, due to which all familial responsibilities fell on his daughter. He had tested positive for the virus on April 22 and was treated at Mulund’s Fortis Hospital till May 10.
