Hindutva dividing India, says Tharoor after Tamil student denied immigration clearance for not knowing Hindi

Shashi Tharoor via his Twitter account said that Hindi, Hindu, Hindutva ideology is dividing our country and the nation needs unity, not uniformity.

Recently, a 27-year-old Ph.D. student Abraham Samuel accused an immigration officer at Mumbai International Airport for refusing him a clearance at the immigration counter for his inability to speak Hindi. Samuel, who’s a student at a university in USA, on twitter claimed, “Denied immigration” by an officer in counter 33 at the Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport for knowing only Tamil and English and not Hindi. What a disaster! Reported the officer, hope they take action” Samuel in his tweet also tagged PM Narendra Modi, Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and DMK President MK Stallin. 



Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor took to his Twitter account and reacted by writing, “Hindi, Hindu, Hindutva” ideology is dividing our country. We need unity, not uniformity.”
