NCP leader Salil Deshmukh and son of Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh won the Zilla Parishad elections from Metpanjra circle in Katol. The results were announced on Wednesday afternoon.

However, a major setback to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari as Congress candidate Mahendra Dongre won from minister’s native village Dhapewada. Also, Congress candidate Nana Kambhale won from former guardian minister and BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule’s erstwhile constituency Koradi circle.
