Home tutor arrested for molesting two minor girls in Nagpur

Nagpur’s Ambazari Police arrested a 48-year-old home tutor named Dnyaneshwar Nadekar for allegedly molesting two nine-year-old girls on Saturday (August 24). Nadekar, who was produced before the court on Sunday, has been sent to custody for two days.

As per the police, Nadekar was employed by a family to tutor the girls, who are cousins. Nadekar would allegedly molest the girls while teaching them. Parents of one of the girls sensed something unusual in the girls’ behaviour from the last couple of days. Upon enquiring, the petrified girls narrated the ordeal to the parents. Nadekar also reportedly threatened the girls of dire consequences in case they spoke about the molestation to anybody.

Upon knowing about the molestation, the family immediately called Nadekar and also informed the police control room. As soon as Nadekar reached the family’s home, Ambazari Police arrested the accused.

Dnyaneshwar Nadekar has been booked by Ambazari Police under sections 354(a)(1) and 506 of the IPC and sections 8 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
