On February 19, thanks to Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), quite a few homeless people enjoyed watching Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhat starrer movie ‘Gully Boy’ at Inox at Jaswant Tuli Mall in Nagpur. These people were taken to the movie hall as part of an initiative under ‘Sheher Samruddhi Utsav’ by the social welfare department of NMC.

Recently, in order to provide better living conditions to the homeless, under Deendayal Antodaya Yojana’s National Urban Emplyment Campaign, NMC’s social welfare department has been trying to shift the homeless into shelter homes. Under the guidance of Aziz Sheikh (Additional Commissioner, NMC) and Dr Rajana Lade (Deputy Commissioner, NMC), it is being ensured that the homeless are provided shelter and given a life of dignity.
