In a case of gruesome honour killing, a 23-year-old man was murdered on Friday near Nagpur’s Yashodhara Nagar by family members of a woman he had eloped with and then married. While the victim has been identified as Nitesh alias Chottu Kalya Yadav Satotia, the woman has been identified as Saba Parveen.

As per the cops, Nitesh and Parveen, who are the residents of Dhammadeep Nagar and Vitta Bhatti Road respectively, had an affair since many years. In the month of February in 2020, Nitesh and Parveen fled their respective houses but were forced to return a few days later.

However, in March, with the help of a friend, the two again eloped, married each other and started living at a friend’s place in Mansar. Ten days later, Parveen’s mother called her and asked her to visit the house citing her maternal uncle’s ill health.

Believing her mother, Parveen immediately rushed to her house and never returned back. When Nitesh visited Parveen’s house a couple of times, he was humiliated by her family members and was asked to leave the place.

As Nitesh left on Friday evening again from Parveen’s house, four of Parveen’s family members thrashed Nitesh with bricks and ultimately killed him with a sword.

The four accused have been identified as Sheikh Naushad, Ayan Pathan, Sheikh Shahrukh and Altaf Pathan. Nagpur Police have registered a complaint against the accused under sections 302, 143, 144, 147, 148, 149 and 135 of the IPC.
