Hudkeshwar Police arrests murderer within 24 hours of crime

Hudkeshwar Police, on Saturday, arrested a 23-year-old man, who murdered his 21-year-old friend on Friday night near a nullah at Sudam Nagari, Dhobley Layout in Dighori, Nagpur. The murder accused has been identified as Rohit alias Chotya Harish Sahu, a resident of Dighori.

On Saturday, at around 7 am, Hudkeshwar Police got a call from the police control room about a dead body at Dighori. Senior PI Satyavan Kadam along with his colleagues reached the spot immediately and found the dead body of a man near the nullah at Dighori. The man had been killed with a rock with his face completely disfigured.

Based on a visiting card found in the victim’s pocket, the police was able to call – Sandeep Dilip Mankar (23) – a resident of Tuljainagar, Gargoti, Dighori. Sandeep reached the crime spot and identified the dead body. The victim was Sandeep’s younger brother Pradeep Dilip Mankar (21).

While investigating the case, the police started interrogating Pradeep’s friends. It is then that they came across the accused Rohit Sahu, a resident of Rashtrasant Nagar, Dighori. Rohit, during the interrogation, accepted that he murdered Pradeep and narrated the entire story.

While drinking alcohol together at the crime spot on Friday, at around 10 pm, Pradeep and Rohit had an altercation over the money Pradeep had borrowed from Rohit. Pradeep, during the altercation refused to give the money telling Rohit that he can do whatever he wishes to. An enraged Rohit, picked up a huge rock and killed Pradeep with it. Rohit, on the complaint of Pradeep’s brother Sandeep, has been booked by Hudkeshwar Police under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
