I hate repeating myself but feel lucky to have played Jijabai twice: Mrinal Kulkarni

    Actress Mrinal Kulkarni started her acting career when she was just 16. Since then, the versatile actress has acted in a number of Marathi and Hindi TV shows and films. One of her most noted roles on television was in the Hindi TV show Son Pari, wherein she played the central character. In 2013, the actress donned the director’s hat when she directed the Marathi film Prem Mhanje Prem Mhanje Prem Asta after which she also directed the Marathi historical drama Rama Madhav in 2014.

    Mrinal, who was last seen in the Marathi film Ye Re Ye Re Paisa (2018), is one of those rare actors who’s popular across age groups. She’s has played historical characters in various films and by her own confession she feels extremely lucky to have been able to do so. The actress will be next seen playing the role of Jijabai (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s mother) in the Marathi film Farzand, which will release on June 1, 2018. In a chat with Nation Next, Mrinal Kulkarni, speaks about her upcoming film Farzand, her career, her connect with Nagpur city and tells us as to why she hates repeating herself.
