PM Modi-led government launched coronavirus tracking app ‘Aarogya Setu,’ which notifies users whether they have been near a coronavirus +ve person or not.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, on Thursday, launched the coronavirus tracking app ‘Aarogya Setu,’ which notifies the users whether they have been near a coronavirus positive person or not.

The app has been developed by National Informatics Centre under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The app is available in 11 languages: English, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Telugu, Oriya, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, Malayalam and Punjabi.

The app, through a Bluetooth and location generated social graph, tracks the user’s interaction with someone who could’ve tested COVID-19 positive. The users would get alerted if they come in close proximity of Coronavirus positive person. The app is also accompanied by instructions on how to self-isolate and what to do in case if the user develops symptoms that may need help and support.

Aarogya Setu app is available on both iOS and Android platforms.
