Lakadganj Police with the accused

Nagpur’s Lakadganj Police, on Tuesday, arrested a 24-year-old ITI dropout for breaking multiple ATMs in the city to steal money. The accused, Lakshman Subhash Jaisinghpure, who’s a resident of Kalamna, was studying the welder’s course under the ITI. The knowledge he gained during studying was used by him to break ATMs. The police confiscated a gas cylinder, a small oxygen cylinder, a cutting torch, a gas cutter and a hose pipe from Lakshman.

On August 5, the IDBI ATM situated in Wardhaman Nagar was vandalized to steal money. On the basis of a complaint filed by Vasudev Nilkanthrao Deshmukh (55), an officer at IDBI bank, Lakadganj Police started an investigation, which led them to identify the accused.

Lakadganj Police, on August 14, during the regular patrolling came across Lakshman and nabbed him. On being interrogated, Lakshman confessed to having broken two more ATMs: DCB Bank ATM at Darodkar Square and Union Bank ATM at Vaishali Nagar.

Lakshman has been booked by Lakadganj Police under sections 379 and 511 of the IPC.
