More than 100 passengers were left stranded on Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur, when a Jet Airways Nagpur-Delhi flight (9W0658) was delayed on Thursday. The flight, which was to take off at 5.20 pm was delayed by six hours citing a technical snag in the aircraft.

The passengers boarded the flight at around 4.30 pm but after sitting in the aircraft for 90 minutes, they were asked to exit the aircraft without giving them reasons for the same. As per Tushar Mandlekar, a passenger on the flight, the passengers were not offered any refreshments while inside the aircraft. Mandlekar tweeted the details about the incident in a series of tweets calling it a ‘worst experience.’ Mandlekar, who’s a lawyer, also tagged the official Jet Airways twitter handle, which replied that the matter has been taken up with the Nagpur Jet Airways ground services team.

The Times of India in a report about the same incident has written that a source at the airport said that the problem appeared to be an engine failure as the plane couldn’t take a startup despite repeated attempts.
