Indian-origin wrestler Jinder Mahal, who won the WWE championship by defeating Randy Orton at WWE’s pay-per-view Backlash on Sunday, celebrated his victory in true ‘Punjabi Style’ at Smackdown Live. Before Mahal entered the WWE ring at Huntington Center at Toledo, Bhangra dancers danced to Punjabi music and the Singh brothers Sunil and Samir made their way to the ring.
As Jinder Mahal entered dressed in a suit and carrying his WWE title, he took the microphone and spoke to the people present at the arena. Mahal told them that the celebrations were for the people of India. He said that just as America as a country is on a decline, Randy Orton is on a decline as well as a wrestler. Mahal also called himself the greatest champion of all times. He further addressed Indians in Punjabi saying that he will rule WWE as a ‘Maharaja.’
Meanwhile, Orton has already got a title rematch against Mahal. The two wrestlers will fight each other in St. Louis at Money In The Bank pay-per-view on June 18.
