Kamal Nath steps down as Madhya Pradesh CM hours before floor test

Congress leader and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath resigned from his post of CM few hours before the floor test on Friday. Kamal Nath was elected for the post 15 months ago.

Nath submitted his resignation letter to Governor Lalji Tandon at Raj Bhavan, Bhopal. In the resignation letter, Nath mentioned that, in his 40 years of service, he has always practiced fair politics and has always lived by democratic values. Whatever has happened in MP for the last two weeks has added a new chapter in devaluation of democratic values.

BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia claimed that Kamal Nath’s resignation is public’s victory in MP. As per reports, BJP leader and former CM of MP, Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be the next CM if BJP proves majority.

While resigning, Nath, gave his best wishes to new CM, and added that he will always support the new CM for development of Madhya Pradesh.
