Katrina Kaif collaborated with De’Haat, which works for employing women from rural areas of Pauni and Ganeshpur in Bhandara.
Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif’s cosmetics brand ‘Kay’ collaborated with Maharashtra based charitable foundation – De’Haat, which works for employing women from rural areas of Pauni and Ganeshpur in Bhandara. The customers of Kay beauty products will now receive a complimentary, eco-friendly and handcrafted pencil with every purchase of lip product of the brand on the multi-brand e-commerce platform – Nykaa.
Kaif’s brand, which was launched in October, created a charitable programme ‘KAREWithKay’ that would be initiating its first partnership with De’Haat foundation. Elaborating on the initiative, the actress took to her Instagram handle and said, “I was so inspired by the work done by Vrundan and her team; she has dedicated her life towards providing education and employment to the people of Pauni and Ganeshpur and we are very proud to be able to support her.”
Speaking to Nation Next, Nagpur woman Vrundan Bawankar, founder at De’Haat said, “The foundation mainly aims at providing employment to married women as well as single mothers of rural areas. Keeping in mind the need for waste management and a plastic-free environment, we teach the women to create eco-friendly pens and pencils purely made up of recycled newspapers. Initially, the organisation had employed two women and now has drastically increased its strength to 65 women. The women are now earning three to five times more than what they were earning earlier.”
