Thrice after Vijay Mallya’s famous Kingfisher Villa at Goa failed to find any suitable buyers in auctions, finally got sold today (April 8) to actor-businessman Sachiin Joshi for almost 73 crores.
The erstwhile party pad, that stands at Goa’s posh Candolim area always managed to create headlines due to Mallya’s lavish parties. As per reports, Joshi paid slightly more than the property’s previous price of Rs 73 crore. State Bank of India, Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya, confirmed the sale of the same.
The renowned Kingfisher Villa was finally sold after three attempts to auction off the property at Rs 85.29 crore, Rs 81 crore and finally Rs 73 crore respectively. Joshi who owns Viking Media and Entertainment has starred in movies like – Aazaan, Mumbai Mirror and Jackpot. Vijay Mallya owes over Rs 9000 crore to lenders and has been declared as a wilful defaulter after Kingfisher Airlines was grounded in 2012.
