Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar announced a donation of rupees one crore to Indian Army soldiers on her father Master Dinanath Mangeshkar’s death anniversary on April 24, 2019.

Speaking to Maharashtra Times, Mangeshkar said, “Many people in the industry always help soldiers who sacrifice their lives for the nation. Even now, people from the industry are helping out. We have also announced something from our end.”

The legendary singer took to twitter to offer her condolences post Pulwama attack. 

Apart from Mangeshkar, several celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, cricketer Virender Sehwag, boxer Vijender Singh, rapper Badshah and singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh also came forward to donate money to the families of martyrs killed in Pulwama attack.

While actor Amitabh Bachchan donated Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the 44 soldiers, Akshay Kumar promised to contribute Rs 5 crore through Union Ministry of Home Affairs’ fundraising initiative Bharat Ke Veer.
