After pictures of people marking social distancing spots outside wine shops in Nagpur before re-opening it from May 4 went viral, NMC clarified that no wine shop would be allowed to open in the city during lockdown 3.0. Putting all speculations and doubts to rest, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) PRO Manish Soni on Sunday evening told Nation Next that liquor shops in Nagpur would remain closed till May 17 irrespective of red, green or orange zones during COVID-19 lockdown.
Soni said, “Wine shops would remain completely shut till May 17; don’t know if state government in near future asks for re-opening of wine shops but so far, the wine shops remain shut till May 17 in Nagpur. The lockdown is for the betterment of the people.”
