Top emergency expert at World Health Organisation (WHO) Mike Ryan said that lockdown isn’t enough to combat the spread of Coronavirus or COVID-19. He said that countries can’t simply lockdown their citizens. He said enough public health measures should be made available to avoid a resurgence of the virus later on.

Ryan said, “We need to first identify people who are sick, people who have virus. Such people including their contacts need to be isolated. If we don’t have strong public health measures now, when those movement restrictions and lockdowns are lifted, the danger is the disease will jump back up.”
