Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s father-in-law Madhav Govind Patankar passes away

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s father-in-law Madhav Govind Patankar passed away at the age of 78 on June 14 due to old age. He was admitted in Mumbai’s Criticare Hospital, Andheri and was undergoing treatment since few days. According to a Sena leader, Patankar was suffering from various health issues, including kidney ailment.

Patankar ran a family business and lived close to Thackeray’s residence ‘Matoshree’ in Mumbai. His daughter, wife of Thackeray, Rashmi is currently the editor of Shiv Sena’s mouthpieces Saamana and Marmik.

Paying condolences on his demise, MP and senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, Supriya Sule tweeted, “Deeply saddened to hear to about the demise of Shri. Madhav Patankar- Father of Mrs Rashmi Thackeray. My heartfelt Condolences. May he rest in peace. My Thoughts and Prayers with the Patankar and Thackeray family.”
