Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray filed his nomination papers for Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) on Monday afternoon at Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai. Thackeray is set to become MLC unopposed after the Congress decided to withdraw the nomination of one of its candidates Raj Kishor Modi. The polls for MLC are due on May 21.
Thackeray’s chief ministerial position was under threat; if he didn’t become an MLC by May 28, he’d have to resign. Wife Rashmi and sons Aaditya and Tejas accompanied Thackeray for the filing of nomination papers.
