Maharashtra, Haryana Assembly Elections 2019: Polling on October 21, counting on 24th

    The Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly Elections 2019 will be held on October 21 counting would take place on October 24th this year.

    The Election Commission on Saturday announced the dates for Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly Elections 2019. The Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly Elections will be held on October 21 counting would take place on October 24th this year. While the term of 288-member Maharashtra assembly ends on November 9, that of the 90-member Haryana assembly expires on November 2.The Model Code of Conduct has now come into force after the announcement of election dates. Chief Election Commissioner, Sunil Arora said that special security arrangements will be made for LWE affected areas in Gadchiroli and Gondia in Maharashtra. 

    The notification for both states – 27 September

    Last date of nomination – 4 October

    Scrutiny of nomination – 5 October

    Last date of withdrawal of candidature – 7 October

    Date of poll – 21 October

    While Haryana has 1.82 crore registered voters, Maharashtra has 8.94 crore voters.
