Man commits suicide after wife tests positive for COVID-19

A 54-year-old man in Gurugram in Haryana committed suicide on April 30 after his wife tested positive for coronavirus.

Subhash Boken, Gurugram Police official, informed that the deceased, identified as Satbir Singh, hung himself and his son woke up to find his body hanging from the ceiling fan of his bedroom.

Singh’s wife had been unwell for some time and was admitted at a private hospital in the city. She tested positive for coronavirus on April 29 evening.

According to the police, no suicide note was found from the spot, and an investigation under Indian Penal Code Section 174. While the deceased’s son is a pharmacist at a private hospital, his daughter-in-law is a nurse.
