In what be called as a tale of sheer determination to save his life, a man named Sunil Chowhan (24) from Uttar Pradesh, walked 9 kms to the nearest station after he was seriously injured after falling from a moving train in Warangal in Telangana on Monday.

Chowhan, who had boarded the train for Nellore in Andhra Pradesh three days ago along with his brother and other migrant workers from Balia in UP, accidentally fell from the train.

Such was the impact that it ripped his stomach and his intestines came out. Chowhan then tied a shirt around his stomach and walked towards Hasanparthy station. Station Master Navin Pandya spotted Chowhan and immediately rushed him to MGM Hospital in Warangal.

Chowhan went through a surgery at the hospital and is now recovering. Doctors informed about the accident to his family, which reached the hospital from UP on Tuesday.

As per the police, at around 2 am, Chowhan woke up to relieve himself and walked towards the train washroom. When he was standing near the wash basin, the train doors were open. As the train moved at a fast pace and took a sharp turn, Chowhan slipped and fell between the tracks. Since most of the commuters were asleep, no one noticed him falling from the train.
